THROUGH EXTENSIVE TRIAL AND ERROR TESTING, I HAVE DEVELOPED A Methodology THAT IS PROVEN TO WORKAfter spending years doing the “shot gun approach” to recruiting, it is crystal clear that my strategic approach to recruiting is much more effective and creates more qualified opportunities to play college football at the next level. I also know that this process is extremely time consuming and one misstep can turn a hot potential opportunity into a “gone dark” scenario overnight. I strongly believe and require that both the student-athlete and parents are fully engaged in this process. That said, my data tells me that most parents do not have the time, expertise, or resources available to be successful doing this on their own. In addition, I absolutely do not believe that a 15-18 year old should be responsible for getting recruited. Yes, they need to be extremely involved and committed to the process, but not the main driver. That is why we do 98% of the work, taking the burden of the recruiting process off of the kids and their parents.

By helping my own sons fulfill their dreams of playing college football using my Strategic College Football Recruiting Methodology™, I have saved my wife and I over $450,000+ in college tuition costs and expenses (room and board, meals, books, etc.). I have shared some high level methodology and techniques with you that I’ve had proven success with. However, this is only a small part of what is necessary to get successfully recruited.
All of these and much more are also critical components which need to be successfully executed upon. This process is extremely difficult and must always be approached with a healthy sense of urgency. That is why we are in this business - to help guide student-athletes and their families through the recruiting process in order to achieve their ultimate goal…a college scholarship.
- Highlight videos need to be turned around quickly, frequently, and professionally
- Camps, combines, and Junior Day invites need to have a measureable ROI (where to go and not go)
- Pre-marketing efforts need to occur prior to these events
- SAT & ACT test dates and prep work guidance, NCAA Clearinghouse eligibility requirements, dead or quiet periods, official and unofficial visits, questions to ask coaches, evaluating offers, etc.
- Social media behavior and monitoring of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat (good character and smart decisions)
All of these and much more are also critical components which need to be successfully executed upon. This process is extremely difficult and must always be approached with a healthy sense of urgency. "I can’t say enough positive things about Game Changer and Steve Okun. My wife, son and I engaged with Game Changer knowing very little about the recruiting process. This guy worked like crazy to help my son get seriously recruited and we ended up with 6 D1 scholarship offers including his #1 choice! My son committed to UC Davis in June before his 2016 senior football season. He also had offers from Cornell, Air Force, NAU, New Mexico, and Idaho. We loved the fact that Steve was always available regardless of the time of day or day of the week (even holidays) and is still the same way today even though my son committed a year ago. He provided the guidance that my wife and I needed not just athletically, but academically in terms of GPA and SAT/ACT test score requirements. He was always there for us and having that open line of communication 24/7 was so important to my family and I. I think the world of Steve Okun and his Game Changer service!" Dad of UC Davis Commit
